Lipo-6 Ephedra Free: A Safer Fat Burner?

This entry was posted on Friday, February 8th, 2008 at 8:52 am and is filed under Ephedra, Weight Loss, Nutrex, Products, Health and Nutrition Articles

After the ephedra ban that helped remove from the market all fat burners and weight-loss supplements with the dangerous drug additive, hundreds of drug companies have turned to alternative ingredients to produce similar results. Lipo-6 Ephedra Free has recently entered the market as a “safer” fat burner. A combination of caffeine, yohimbe, and synephrine is designed to promote fast weight loss by increasing energy—and with minimal side effects.

Key Ingredients

Each serving of Lipo-6 Ephedra Free capsules delivers the following ingredients:

  • Citrus aurantium.

  • Caffeine.

  • Yohimbe HCL.

  • Coleus forskohlii.

  • Carnitrex.

  • Bioperine.

  • Synthetic gugglsterones.

Caffeine

Caffeine is used in Lipo-6 to boost energy and increase mental alertness. This has similar effects as ephedra did in other diet supplements, and can help sustain the muscles during intensive training workouts. Caffeine is considered to be a mild fat burner itself and can help maintain a steady level of energy throughout the day.

Yohimbe HCL

Made from the bark of the African yohimbe tree, yohimbe HCL naturally lowers blood pressure. This does make it dangerous when taken with foods that contain tyramine, and overdosage can lead to muscle weakness and fatigue. However, the ingredient is commonly used in a variety of diet pills, and, combined with other elements of Lipo-6 Ephedra Free, it promises to stimulate fat loss.

Synephrine

Considered to be a synthetic version of ephedra, synephrine serves as a central nervous system stimulant. According to researchers, when synephrine is combined with caffeine, there are a variety of positive effects; however, clinical trials have yet to publish cohesive studies on the topic.

Guggulsterones

Used in natural medicine for thousands of years, guggulsterones have been known to stimulate the thyroid and decrease fat in the blood. They can be especially effective with caffeine and yohimbe combinations.

Bioperine

An extract derived from black pepper and berries, bioperine is used in the body to increase absorption of vitamins, minerals, and other supplements and may provide efficient distribution of nutrients.

Why No Ephedra?

After the Food and Drug Administration banned ephedra from retail shelves, many drug manufacturers switched to alternative stimulants and ingredients that simulate ephedra’s reaction in the body. Ephedra is a central nervous system stimulant that was used to encourage weight loss with its thermogenic properties. However, thousands of people reported adverse side effects and reactions after using the product. The FDA banned the dangerous stimulant from the market, and Lipo-6 Ephedra Free has been designed to work with the same goals—but without the harmful side effects.

A Safe Alternative?

The powerful mix of guggulsterones, bioperine, yohimbe, and synephrine in Lipo-6 Ephedra Free may deliver significant effects for weight loss, but no confirmed research on results has been reported. Results vary by individual, and anyone sensitive to caffeine and stimulants should not regularly take fat burners. Synephrine is a synthetic version of ephedra and imitates many of its reactions in the body. People with a history of diabetes, heart disease, or chronic fatigue need to exercise caution with this product.
