When it comes to the product list for herbs and alternative blends under the subheading of multivitamins, other herbs and blends, the choices you have are almost too many to begin thinking about.
The first thing you need to consider when thinking about any choice in the herbs and alternative blends category is quality; not quantity or price. Most medical professionals recommend a multivitamin every day. What most people don't realize is the product they get at the big box chain store, for a cheap price, is not necessarily going to do them any good.
Quality Manufacturer:
You should do some research on the manufacturer of any supplement or multivitamin. Read up on their philosophy as well as the manufacturing practices. The products and sources of the products should be produced in the U.S. Other countries may not have the same clean environments or requirements as the U.S. (this was most recently exhibited during the products imported from China)
Read the label:
The label should clearly state the quantity of the main ingredient. It should be a large percentage of the product itself. Many of the less expensive products have great marketing, but contain more fillers than you want.
Most of the high quality health food stores carry the best lines of multivitamins and other herbs and blends. These may be everything from the raw materials to already prepared and bottled products. The better health stores (not the mass marketed chains) usually have educated staff that can assist you in your selections.
